I should have taken a proper before photo, because this thing was covered in woodworking tools, sawdust and spider webs. The desk was originally bought for our woodworking business and I believe I bagged it on eBay, though I could be wrong. It cost about £15.
First job was to clean it off and wipe the whole thing down. The metalwork was originally dull grey. I resprayed this with Rust-oleum Painter’s Touch enamel in Tranquil Blue.
The top was a little uneven, so I sanded it down before covering with self-adhesive film in a dyed wood effect. I also covered the sides and the front of the drawer.
I then masked around the handle and key hole and sprayed these in the same paint as the legs.
